In addition to "Xena," some of Laga'aia's other television credits include "The Strip," "Bed of Roses," "McLeod's Daughters," "Tales of the South Seas," "The Mysterious Island," "High Tide," and the mini-series "Violent Earth." He was honored as Best Actor in a Television Series at the New Zealand TV Guide Awards in 2003 for his role as David Silesi in "Street Legal." This same role also led to his nomination for Best Actor at the 2002 New Zealand Television Awards.
Laga'aia has graced the silver screen in the role of Captain Typho in "Star Wars Episode II" and "Star Wars Episode III." He has also appeared in the feature films "Nim's Island," "Daybreakers," "Solo," "Navigator" and "Never Say Die."
Laga'aia has impressive stage experience as well, having played Mufasa in the Disney theatrical production of "The Lion King" with director Julie Taymor, as well as appearing in productions of "The New Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Threepenny Opera," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Westside Story," "Sweet Charity" and "Pirates of Penzance."
