Bruce Spence

Veteran actor Bruce Spence stars as Zedd in "Legend of the Seeker," the new first-run, live action epic fantasy series premiering the weekend of November 1st in national syndication.

Throughout his impressive career spanning almost four decades, Spence has been featured in numerous film, television and theater productions all over the world. His role in "Legend of the Seeker" marks a return to his native New Zealand where he previously worked on Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings."

In addition to "The Lord of The Rings," Spence has appeared in almost 30 films, including "Star Wars Episode III," "The Matrix Reloaded," "The Matrix Revolutions," "Peter Pan," "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls," "Queen of the Damned," "Inspector Gadget 2," "Finding Nemo," "Mad Max 2" and "Mad Max 3," for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor by the Academy of Science Fiction Fantasy and Horror Films. Next he will be seen in the highly anticipated "Australia," for director Baz Luhrman.

Spence has appeared in almost all major Australian television shows, both as a series regular and as a guest performer. His television credits include "After The Beep," "Dearest Enemy," "Rafferty's Rules," "Over The Hill," as well as the TV mini-series "Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King," and telefilms "Moby Dick" and "The Munsters Scary Little Christmas."

Spence's extensive theater work includes a tour of Australia and New Zealand while playing Thenardier in "Les Miserables," as well as roles in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," Cinderella," "Twelfth Night," and a vast number of Australian plays. His appearance in "Don Juan" at the Adelaide Arts Festival led to him being voted Most Popular Actor at the festival, and he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with The Melbourne Theater Company.
